‘Gravity’ which stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney was up against The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Iron Man 3, The Lone Ranger and Star Trek Into Darkness to win the prize for visual effects – what tough competition! Although the movie was an all-american cast and Mexican director, it was filmed in the UK and is just shows why we are the leaders in VFX / Special FX. A very proud moment for British film.
The film didn’t stop there – walking away with 6 awards out of 10 nominations in total including Sound and Cinematography – wowzers they pulled out no stops there! With their brand new techniques, the crew working alongside Alfonso Cuaron has set the bar yet higher for cinematography and VFX. Expecting to see great things in the future for an industry that knows no bounds!
